VIDEO. Justice Remains One of the Greatest Expectations for the People of Armenia, Says Pashinyan
The Prosecutor's Office celebrates its 106th anniversary on July 1, with a solemn session of the Republic of Armenia's Prosecutor's Office Collegium held to award state honors. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and other high-ranking officials were present at the event.
The session began with the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia, followed by speeches from the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan congratulated everyone on the 106th anniversary of the formation of the Prosecutor's Office and the professional holiday, the Prosecutor's Employee Day. "Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for accepting the invitation to visit the Prosecutor's Office on this symbolic day and participate in the solemn session of the Collegium of the Prosecutor's Office. We thank the Government of the Republic of Armenia for supporting ongoing reforms aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the Prosecutor's Office and for backing initiatives that strengthen the rule of law and legality," she stated.
Vardapetyan emphasized that the effectiveness of the Prosecutor's Office is evaluated by the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. "The authors of both praise and criticism are also the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. I am confident that dedication and professionalism, diligence and care, and a citizen-centered and patriotic approach to work will inevitably decrease public criticism and increase trust in us. Leaving the assessment to the judgment of time and citizens, I want to say to each one of you individually today: thank you, thank you for your strength, honesty, and professionalism," Vardapetyan highlighted.
In his speech, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also congratulated the Prosecutor's Office on its founding day and expressed gratitude to prosecutors for their work. "I believe that justice continues to be one of the greatest expectations for the people of the Republic of Armenia. If we consider the public opinion perspective and logic, we have not been able to fully address and realize this expectation at least in full. In this regard, of course, the role of the Prosecutor's Office in shaping a sense of justice and fairness in the country is difficult to overestimate," said the Prime Minister.
The speeches were followed by the swearing-in ceremony of ten prosecutors assuming the position for the first time, after which the Prime Minister's commemorative medal was awarded to Yerevan prosecutor Rafael Manukyan and the Chief Secretary of the RA Prosecutor's Office Mher Apikian for their contributions to strengthening the rule of law and impeccable work on the occasion of Prosecutor's Employee Day. Gratitude from the Prime Minister was given to Yerevan district prosecutors Aram Aramyan of Kentron and Norq Marash and Vardan Poghosyan of Ararat region.
