These are not only concerns for Minsk, but also for Moscow: Peskov

The Kremlin is concerned about the situation at the Belarus-Ukraine border. This was commented on by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, regarding recent Belarusian statements about Ukraine's military buildup near the border.

“Belarus is a union state, and we have special dialogue formats with all relevant departments, including special services. Our defense ministries are in continuous partnership contact. Therefore, of course, these are concerns not only for Minsk but also for Moscow, as we are indeed allies and partners,” he said.

It is worth recalling that last week, Belarus announced that units of the Russian Volunteer Corps had been spotted on the Ukrainian side of the border. Later, in a television interview, Chief of the General Staff Pavel Muraveyko stated that the situation at the border with Ukraine is not easy and changes daily, and not for the better.

During the briefing, Peskov was also asked about the possible communications between Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. The press secretary replied that they could do this, “if deemed necessary.”
