Brother Kills Sibling for Beating Sister: Details
The Shirak Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee is conducting necessary investigative and procedural actions to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of a 34-year-old resident of Gyumri. On June 30, 2024, the Shirak Regional Police received a report regarding the bodily injuries sustained by the 34-year-old resident of Gyumri.
On the same day, a report from the Gyumri Medical Center indicated that at 10:08 AM, the biological death of the individual was recorded. Preliminary information suggests that on June 30, 2024, around 9:00 AM, a 33-year-old resident of Gyumri heard his sister calling for help and approached a garage, where he saw his 34-year-old brother beating their sister.
According to preliminary data, the 33-year-old man intervened to protect his sister, but the brother, armed with a kitchen knife, attacked her. The 33-year-old then took the knife from the brother, and during a struggle, the brother sustained a fatal injury to the head.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 155, Part 2, Clause 9 of the RA Criminal Code, and based on reasonable suspicion directly arising from the commission of the aforementioned crime, the 33-year-old resident of Gyumri has been arrested.
The investigation has uncovered and collected blood-like traces from the crime scene, as well as a piece of the knife blade. Seizures have been made, several individuals have been interviewed, and a forensic examination has been ordered. An operational directive has been given to the appropriate division of the Police to undertake necessary measures to clarify several circumstances relevant to the investigation.
