Jalili is a More Understandable Presidential Candidate for Strengthening Armenia-Iran Relations, According to Iranologist
Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan writes: “Summarizing the results of the Iranian presidential elections, it should be noted that the second round was very predictable. It will take place on July 5, and will involve Masoud Pezeshkian from the reformist wing and conservative Saiid Jalili. When considering the process from the perspective of Armenia's interests, it is undoubtedly necessary to emphasize that the importance of Armenian-Iranian relations cannot be overlooked by any president of Iran.
At the same time, however, among the close supporters of Masoud Pezeshkian, there are individuals with pan-Turkic sentiments who, naturally, would seek to occupy various positions at different levels in the event of his potential presidency, and promote Iran-Azerbaijan and Iran-Turkey relations. Therefore, Saiid Jalili is a much more understandable presidential candidate in terms of further deepening and strengthening the friendly relations between Armenia and Iran that have a millennial history.
