Car Goes Off Road and Falls into River
On June 27, at 21:00, the Crisis Management Center of the Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Service received a call about an accident on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, stating that a car had gone off the road and fallen into the river, with casualties reported.
A firefighting-rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that at kilometer 112 of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, a "Mercedes-Benz" car (driver: V.H., born in 1993) had gone off the road and fallen into the Arpa River. The driver and passengers M.H. (born in 1994), G.H. (born in 2001), and A.H. (born in 2022) were hospitalized with bodily injuries, and their health condition was assessed as satisfactory by the doctors at the medical center.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver and passengers managed to exit the vehicle. The rescuers disconnected the car from the power supply, closed the valve of the gas cylinder, and using special equipment, retrieved the vehicle from the river and moved it closer to the tow truck.
