Heavy Rain Causes Collapse of Only Road Connecting Vorotan Village to the Outside World
Today, heavy rainfall has caused a section of the alternative road connecting Khot and Vorotan to collapse. This information was reported by the Goris municipality.
"The mudslide has also damaged the drinking water pipes of the settlement," the statement said. It was noted that efforts are being made to restore the road's passability and repair the damaged pipes.
The Khot-Vorotan alternative road is approximately 10 km long. Previously, it was often closed due to landslides, preventing people not only from reaching Goris but also from accessing their cultivated land.
The need for the road's reconstruction arose after Azerbaijan closed the Goris-Kapan highway. This road has now become the only link connecting the village to the outside world.
