40 years old, I've never seen anything like this: Head of Hayravank Community

“I am 40 years old, and I have never seen anything like this, that hail of this magnitude came. Can you imagine, it arrived at 2 AM on a summer night, like snow, and it hasn’t even melted yet,” said Sevan Badoyan, the head of the Hayravank community in the enlarged Tavush community of Gegharkunik Province, speaking to Factinfo.

In this community, farmers engage in animal husbandry and agriculture. “They had wheat and barley, potato fields, but nothing is left. In the household plots, they grow beans, vegetables, greens, and yet nothing is left,” the administrative head added. “Since this morning, people have been calling to come and see, but what are we to see? The same devastation is everywhere.”

According to him, the damage assessment has not yet been completed, and they still cannot envision what they will do next. “It was a disaster; this was also a disaster, the hail was the size of a chicken egg,” Sevan Badoyan commented.
