Lawyer for Unrecognized Victim Yesayi Karamyan Files Complaint About Crime

On June 12, Yesayi Karamyan, who lost the use of his hand due to the police's use of sound grenades on Baghramyan Avenue, is demanding that a separate criminal proceeding be initiated regarding the abuse of official authority by the police. Lawyer Manush Yesayan stated in an interview with «Factinfo» that she has filed a complaint about the crime, calling for the initiation of a new criminal proceeding under Article 441 of the RA Criminal Code.

As of now, the lawyer has not received any decision regarding the initiation of criminal proceedings based on the complaint, nor has Yesayi Karamyan been recognized as a victim in the ongoing case.

It is worth noting that as a result of police actions involving violence and the use of sound grenades on June 12, more than 101 citizens, including journalists, were injured, but law enforcement authorities have yet to provide any assessments of the actions of the police officers involved.
