"Finish this week, and next week say we've got it handled": Avinyan on pothole repairs

In Yerevan, contracts with four administrative districts and the organization conducting technical supervision of pothole repairs have been terminated, with new contracts expected to be signed soon. This was stated by Armen Harutyunyan, the acting head of the construction and improvement department of the Yerevan Municipality, during a working session.

"Contracts with the organization conducting technical supervision related to pothole repairs have been resolved. Today we will sign new contracts and continue our pothole repair work in the Malatia-Sebastia, Ajapnyak, Kanaker-Zeytun, and Shengavit administrative districts. We have significant volumes in those areas," Harutyunyan said.

The head of the Avan administrative district, Vahe Hakobyan, noted that there was an issue related to technical supervision, but the contract with the former technical supervisor has already been terminated. "Now we have applied for a one-person purchase to conclude a contract with new people to continue the work. We had to redo the paving and curb work twice as it was poorly executed; we did not accept the work, and thus we did not pay the money," Hakobyan explained.

Issues related to technical supervision have also arisen in the Kentron administrative district, where they are preparing to sign a contract with another organization through a one-person purchase method.

Avinyan instructed Vilen Arevshatyan, the acting deputy secretary of the Yerevan Municipality, to discuss the issues and find solutions today. "Finish this week, so that next week the issue can be settled, and we can say that we have technical supervision, and we are working," Avinyan stated.
