Vietnam's Foreign Ministry Calls the U.S. a Strategic Partner After Putin's Visit
Vietnam’s embassy in Washington called on other countries not to give Russian President Vladimir Putin the opportunity to advance his position on the Ukrainian conflict ahead of his visit. However, Vietnam ignored this call.
The Vietnamese Foreign Minister has announced that the country is ready to develop its partnership with the United States based on respect for the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions of states.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink arrived in Vietnam the day after President Putin’s visit. According to him, cooperation between the two countries will contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region.
Vietnam's Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son stated that the country views the U.S. as its strategic partner and supports strengthening cooperation with Southeast Asian countries.
Kritenbrink emphasized that the relationship between the two nations has “never been stronger than it is now,” expressing Hanoi's readiness to reinforce its partnership with Washington.
