VIDEO: Flooding from Rainwater Begins to Affect France and Switzerland; Missing Persons Reported

Heavy rainfall in the Alps has led to flooding in France and Switzerland. In the southeastern region of Switzerland, three people are reported missing due to severe thunderstorms and rainfall.

Rescue teams successfully extracted one woman alive from a landslide; she had been buried in the alpine Misoch Valley in Graubünden. Efforts continue to locate the three missing individuals.

In other parts of Switzerland, the famous tourist destination of Zermatt in the southern Valais canton, known for the legendary Matterhorn, remains inaccessible. The heavy rains and snowmelt have caused the Mattervispa River to overflow, cutting off the village from the outside world.
