VIDEO: A 26-Story Residential Complex is Burning in Astana, People Evacuated

A 26-story residential complex is burning in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, with residents claiming that the fire spread within minutes.

The blaze reportedly broke out in the high-rise building of the Rixos Khan Shatyr residential complex on Turan Avenue, consuming the roof of the top floor. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, rescuers are currently working on-site.

There are currently no reports of injuries. The exact causes of the fire are being investigated. It is known that more than 70 people are participating in the firefighting efforts.

The building is located in the city center, near the major shopping center 'Khan Shatyr.' The structure houses not only apartments but also administrative areas.

Eight people have been evacuated from the burning building, including one child.
