Mbappé Played for the French National Team After Breaking His Nose

French national team forward Kylian Mbappé participated in a friendly match against German club Paderborn's reserve team during the UEFA Euro 2024. He scored two goals during the match, as reported by RMC Sport.

This marked Mbappé's return to the field following a nose injury. He had sustained a broken nose during the first round of Euro 2024 in a match against Austria.

A special mask was prepared for him to wear while playing in the tournament. In the second round match against the Netherlands, held on June 21 and which ended in a 0:0 draw, Mbappé was seated on the substitutes' bench but did not come onto the pitch.

In the first round, France secured a 1:0 victory over Austria. The 25-year-old forward collided with the shoulder of an Austrian defender in the 85th minute, resulting in his nose injury, after which he was substituted for Olivier Giroud.

Initially, media reports suggested that Mbappé suffered a broken nose and might require urgent surgery due to the injury. However, this information regarding surgery was later denied by the French Football Federation.
