VIDEO: Wizz Air’s Yerevan-Milan-Yerevan Flight Delayed, Passengers in Uncertainty

Passengers on the Wizz Air Milan-Yerevan flight have been stranded at Malpensa Airport for nearly 12 hours without being informed about the reasons for the delay. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by one of the passengers, Gohar Hakobyan.

She explained that the flight was scheduled to take off at 23:35 local time, and the passengers had checked in, but the flight did not take off. Initially, it was reported that one of the crew members had a severe health crisis, prompting the arrival of an ambulance, but no further information has been provided regarding the ongoing delay. Passengers suspect that the issue may be related to a mechanical failure of the aircraft.

“We have checked in twice and attempted boarding several times, yet we still haven’t flown. Passengers, including children and women, were kept in a closed bus, transported to the plane but were not allowed to board. Now, finally, we are on the plane, but we still cannot take off,” she noted.

Hakobyan added that neither representatives of the airline nor the Armenian embassy have responded to the situation. The passengers have not been provided with basic necessities, and in response to all inquiries, the airline staff have urged them to contact Wizz Air headquarters, whose phone lines remain unanswered.

Meanwhile, passengers on the Yerevan-Milan flight have also faced delays without being informed about the reasons. Unlike the travelers heading to Yerevan, they were offered accommodation and breakfast.

“The flight was scheduled for 06:00, but after passing through check-in at 03:30, we were informed about the delay and offered accommodation. We were taken to the hotel around 07:30 and were warned that we would be transported back to the airport at 09:00. We are still waiting at the hotel. We have been informed that the flight will take place after 13:00,” said one passenger. Later, it became clear that the flight would occur at 14:00.
