Poland Suggests Mining the Border with Russia

Former Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak has called on the country's authorities to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning the use of anti-personnel mines and has proposed mining the border with the Russian Federation. His statement was reported by TASS.

“As part of the program to strengthen the eastern border, the authorities should withdraw from the Ottawa Convention,” said Błaszczak.

On June 12, Russian servicemen observed mercenaries from Poland and Georgia on the islands of the Dnipro flooding. On May 28, Polish General Tomasz Drewniak stated that Poland does not have the capability to intercept Russian missiles and does not wish to fight against a nuclear power, as proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Earlier, Poland accused Russia of disrupting the broadcast of the Euro 2024 games.
