At Least 550 People Die Due to Heat During Hajj in Mecca
At least 550 participants have died during the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca due to extreme heat conditions, reported EFE on Wednesday, citing sources. A representative of Saudi Arabia's health services indicated this figure and did not rule out the possibility of a revision upward.
Last year, it was reported that approximately 240 people died during Hajj due to heat, overcrowding, and other factors.
