VIDEO: Ukrainian Fencer Refuses to Shake Hands with Russian Rival

Ukrainian fencer Yelena Krivitskaya refused to shake hands with Russian competitor Maya Guchmazova after their match at the European Fencing Championships held in Basel, Switzerland. Guchmazova, who has been competing for the Georgian national team since 2017, attempted to greet her opponent following the bout. However, Krivitskaya ignored her and simply walked away.

“Why do they behave like this, why are they allowed to do everything?” Guchmazova expressed her outrage over the behavior of her Ukrainian rival, accompanying her statement with inappropriate language.

The match concluded with Krivitskaya emerging victorious with a score of 15-9.
