NATO to Have a New Secretary General

Mark Rutte is set to become the new Secretary General of NATO. This has been reported by Dutch media outlets.

The acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, has received the approval of all 32 member countries of NATO and will take over as the organization's new Secretary General this autumn.

Hungary has agreed to support Rutte's candidacy for the position of NATO Secretary General. The alliance's current Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, announced during a press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the coalition is close to reaching an agreement on Rutte's candidacy.
