Armenia Has Not Indicated Intent to Leave CIS
Armenia has not sent any signals regarding its intention to leave the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) or to weaken its participation in the cooperation. This was stated to TASS by the CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev.
“No, you know, we have no signals that Armenia is preparing to leave the CIS or weaken its participation,” the Secretary General said.
Lebedev drew attention to the statements made by high-ranking officials in Yerevan regarding membership in the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization). “But then it was said that I noted that Armenia will continue its cooperation with the CIS and the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), alongside its neighbors. And I am sincerely glad about that and hope it will be so,” he emphasized.
