Moscow Deems Ukraine Summit in Switzerland a Failure: Zakharova
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced that Moscow considers the Ukrainian summit held in Switzerland to be a failure. According to her, attempts to present the summit as an event of 'almost universal scale' have turned into a fiasco, with nearly half of the 160 invited countries refusing to engage in 'political tourism.'
Zakharova added, 'The focus on maximizing the involvement of Global South countries did not work.' She emphasized that Kyiv and the West were never genuinely interested in seeking peaceful solutions to the Ukrainian crisis.
Earlier, Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president on international affairs, stated that the summit in Switzerland made no contribution towards progress in peace resolution efforts.
