Flirting with the West Could Lead to Divisions in Armenian Society: НТВ
The United States has no vital interests in Armenia, stated Arthur Khachikyan, a doctor of political science at Stanford University, in an interview with НТВ.
According to him, NATO will not invite Yerevan to join and will not ensure the security of the country in the event of a potential conflict.
As highlighted in the report, street clashes in Yerevan have intensified. Protesters are struggling to come to terms with the need for the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
Regarding the impeachment process, Pashinyan has a majority in parliament, and there are still two years until the elections that could change this balance.
“Thus, the Prime Minister not only does not intend to go anywhere, but seems to be in a hurry to realign Armenia in the international political arena. Pashinyan’s government is now seeking new allies,” the report indicated.
French observer Philippe Lubière is confident that Western countries are drawing Nikol Pashinyan closer only to undermine Russia, although this could result in divisions within Armenian society.
