EURO 2024: Hungary-Switzerland Match Ends in Favor of Switzerland
In the first round of the group stage of EURO 2024, the Swiss national team defeated Hungary with a score of 3:1. Right from the beginning of the match, the Swiss opened the scoring as Kvado Duan confidently converted his opportunity. Towards the end of the first half, the Red Crosses strengthened their advantage with an excellent long-range shot by Michel Ebişer.
After the break, Hungary managed to reduce the deficit thanks to Barnabás Varga's efforts, but they could not find the equalizer. At the end of the match, Breel Embolo put all questions about the winner to rest. Interestingly, Hungary's lead player Dominik Szoboszlai set a new record in European championships, becoming the youngest captain in the tournament's history.
In the second round of Group A, Hungary will face Germany, while Switzerland will compete against Scotland. It is worth reminding that yesterday in this quartet, Germany defeated Scotland with a score of 5:1.
