The Footbridge Leading to the Affected Village of Karkop Begins Operation
The footbridge leading to the affected village of Karkop has started operation as promised, according to reports from the Lori Regional Administration.
Lori Governor Aram Ghazaryan and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Arthur Yeritsyan visited the flood-affected village on June 14, where work continues to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. They spoke with the affected residents about the anticipated state support programs directed at the villages.
The residents voiced their concerns regarding property compensation, housing provision, and other issues. The governor emphasized that every possible effort is being made to fully eliminate the consequences of the disaster. He noted that the issues in the disaster zone are under the daily attention of the Government of Armenia, and specific programs will be proposed in the near future.
The regional leader also informed that the water supply line in Karkop has been restored, but water supply will commence only after the final works on cleaning the sewage lines are completed.
The residents of Karkop expressed their gratitude for the rapid restoration of the footbridge and the extensive support work that has been conducted since the first day of the disaster.
