Putin Accuses the US
In the late 20th century, the world had the opportunity to establish a reliable security system, but the US blew it up by withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, it is Washington that has disrupted strategic stability. However, beyond the United States, other NATO member states have also participated in this destabilization. “Western powers, led by the US, believe they have won the Cold War and have the right to unilaterally decide how to shape the world,” concluded Putin.
Prior to this, Putin had called the assumptions that Russia is preparing to attack Europe “absolute nonsense.” The country’s leader stated that it is not Russia that poses a danger to Europe, but rather the critical, nearly total dependence of European countries on the US.
