Harutyunyan Instructs Ministers Not to Visit Belarus; Document Published
The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, has issued an instruction excluding any official visit by ministers to the Republic of Belarus. This information was reported by the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that neither he nor any other official from the country will visit Belarus while President Alexander Lukashenko is in power. This decision stems from statements made by the Belarusian president three weeks ago related to the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. Shortly after Pashinyan's announcement, it was revealed that the Armenian ambassador to Belarus had been summoned to Yerevan for consultations.
The newspaper published a photo of Arayik Harutyunyan’s instruction addressed to heads of state bodies and ministers.
It is worth noting that Lukashenko was in Azerbaijan from May 15-17 and visited Nagorno-Karabakh during that time. He stated that prior to the 2020 war, he and Aliyev discussed the situation and concluded that victory in the war was possible. He added that now is the time to revitalize those territories.
After that, Pashinyan stated that two member countries of the CSTO participated in the preparations for the war against Armenians, though he did not specify which countries were involved.
