Undignified and Cheap: Zakharova Commented on Pashinyan's Speech

The official Yerevan must openly express its stance regarding joining the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which is a structure where no one holds anyone else back, and the verbal acrobatics surrounding this topic are undignified and cheap. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“If there is something to announce, let it be stated openly. It has been said a million times that the CSTO is the organization where everyone comes voluntarily. There is no command-administrative system to exert pressure on the participating countries. There is mutual respectful dialogue. No one is held back by force. What is the problem? Why have the same Armenian politicians been exploiting this topic for so many years?” Zakharova said during a media briefing.

“I want to draw attention to the fact that no other CSTO member raises these issues before Armenia. This endless tug-of-war, the play on words that we hear from a number of figures in Armenia's current political leadership; who is urging them to develop this topic? No one, it’s their own doing,” Zakharova added.
