Richard Verma, Deputy Secretary of State of the USA, to Visit Armenia

Richard Verma, the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, will officially visit Yerevan from June 17-19 to participate in the Armenian-American conference dedicated to issues of democracy at the local self-government level. During his visit, he will meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

"This visit signifies our intention to further strengthen bilateral ties with the Armenian people. Deputy Secretary Verma will lead a delegation consisting of community and state officials from California, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, and Pennsylvania," the State Department reported.

It is noted that he will be accompanied by Nina Hachigian, Special Representative for State and City Diplomacy, who leads the newly formed subnational diplomacy team at the State Department, and Sarah Morgenthau, Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs.

"The delegation will meet with representatives from the public and private sectors as well as civil society," the released statement mentions.
