Biden and Zelensky to Sign 10-Year Security Agreement Between the U.S. and Ukraine in Italy
President Biden and President Zelensky will sign a 10-year security agreement between the United States and Ukraine at the G7 summit in Italy.
The document commits Washington to support the Ukrainian armed forces on a long-term basis, including the transfer of advanced technologies; however, it does not include obligations to send American troops to Ukraine.
Moreover, since the agreement is not a treaty and will not be ratified by Congress, any future U.S. president, aside from Biden, could withdraw from the agreement.
