Armenia Officially Joins NASA's Artemis Agreement

Armenia has become the 43rd country to officially join NASA's Artemis Agreement. This was announced by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, detailing that the agreement was signed on June 12 in Washington, D.C., at NASA headquarters.

Armenia was represented by Minister of High-Tech Industry Mikayel Hayrapetyan, and the event was also attended by Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States, Lilit Makunts.

In his opening remarks, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson warmly welcomed Armenia's decision to join the Artemis Agreement, emphasizing the country’s historically significant achievements in science, space research, and astronomy.

Minister Hayrapetyan, highlighting the long-term partnership between Armenia and the United States, noted that this event marks a significant step in expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, particularly in space research.

“Challenging times compel us to seek new opportunities, to find innovative solutions with our gaze turned upward to the cosmos, where there are no borders. It offers a unique opportunity for dreaming and realizing great dreams. By joining this initiative concerning humanity's return to the Moon and travel beyond it, Armenia has become a member of a great cosmic family dedicated to sustainable and peaceful exploration of space,” stated Mikayel Hayrapetyan.
