My Son Was in the Same Place as the Soldier Who Died; Did the Azerbaijani Shrapnel Decide That My Son's Parent Is Not a Heroic Birth? - Pashinyan
I kneel before all our fallen heroes, their parents, and relatives, and I ask that everything has its logic, measure, and limit. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly in response to a question regarding the use of force by the police against heroic mothers and the families of the fallen.
Pashinyan declared that his own son was among the many soldiers who died. “There are known facts by name and surname; a soldier died in the same place as my son. They were attached by bodies; it was due to an explosion, not a sniper's shot, that you may say he knew,” he added. “How did the shrapnel decide that my son should not die but that another soldier should? Now, did the Azerbaijani shrapnel decide that my son's parent is not a heroic birth?” he asked.
Pashinyan emphasized that legality is not built on compassion. “Everyone is human,” he stated.
