Bagrath Serbazan Responds to Charges Related to Talin Kindergarten
This is a manifestation of immense ignorance, responded Bagrath Serbazan, leader of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, commenting on Talin Mayor Tavoros Sapeian's post, which claimed that Serbazan is the reason why the second kindergarten in Talin is not functioning.
"I cannot be aware of what happened in 2012, because I was in Canada. In April 2003, the mayor at that time transferred the kindergarten to the Armenian Apostolic Church; I was the deputy bishop. On May 27, my powers ended in Aragatsotn, and I was elected as the bishop of the Canadian diocese. It is only a two-month story relating to the allocation of the kindergarten and my departure," he clarified.
Serbazan emphasized that, personally, even if he had made great efforts, there was nothing he could have done at that moment. "In July of the same year, I sent a group of 50 young people to Talin for the renovation of the kindergarten. The kindergarten was in a completely ruined state, and I sent a group of young people from Canada, and that year they came and renovated it. It was not my property, as they call me Bagrath Vardapet; it was under the care of the Aragatsotn diocese, and it wasn’t 11 years ago but 21 years ago, in 2003. In 2012, I have no idea what happened," he recounted.
Notably, Talin Mayor Tavoros Sapeian had posted that the Talin kindergarten has not been functioning for about 11 years, thanks to and on behalf of the one referred to as "the Vardapet" today.
