Armenia Ready to Collaborate with Russia and Ukraine, Says Deputy Foreign Minister

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement: "From June 11 to 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan participated in the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine held in Berlin. During the conference, Kostanyan delivered a speech in which he particularly emphasized, 'First of all, allow me to express high appreciation for Germany's efforts in organizing this meeting. I wish to highlight that Armenia is participating in the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine for the first time. The principles of Ukraine's reconstruction, adopted in Lugano two years ago, should form the basis of today's discussions. Reforms-based, transparent, democratic, and sustainable reconstruction processes are prerequisites for ensuring the future of the Ukrainian people. At the same time, without peace, this process will be fragmented and ineffective. Armenia and our people envision the horrors of wars and violence. We have recently faced a similar situation and recognize the importance of peace. We are ready to collaborate with the parties to alleviate the suffering of innocent people. Peace is our political conviction. We are sincerely engaged in peace negotiations with the intent of establishing peace and stability in our region. One of the main principles of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is the mutual recognition of territorial integrity based on the Almaty Declaration. Based on that document, not only Armenia and Azerbaijan but also 10 other former Soviet republics agreed to recognize past administrative borders as international boundaries. Dear partners, allow me to reaffirm the Republic of Armenia’s determination to collaborate with partners in the aim of rebuilding stability and peace in Europe.' The Deputy Foreign Minister also held bilateral meetings with several partners during the event.
