I Don't Understand Why You Came Here: Rubinyan to Opposition Members
My dear colleague Artavazd Minasyan is distorting everything. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan during a speech in response to an address by Artavazd Minasyan, the secretary of the 'Armenia' faction.
'According to the Constitution, an extraordinary session must be convened by law, and indeed it will be convened on the 17th. The Constitution does not state that this session must take place; our laws state that the session takes place if there is a quorum. Now, if there is a quorum, the session will take place; if there is no quorum, it will not,' said Rubinyan.
The Deputy Speaker stated that it is strange for him that the opposition factions have come to the National Assembly today. 'If I am not mistaken, your Sacred Movement declared yesterday that you should not let us come to work today. As you can see, we are all at work today, but I don't understand why you came. Perhaps you should clarify what your tactic is now: to thwart the National Assembly sessions or not to thwart them? Could it be that you came to the session today because if you didn't register, you wouldn't receive a salary for this session?' he said.
Rubinyan also noted that yesterday he raised two questions at the meeting of the National Assembly Council: 'Why was a draft address to the National Assembly presented instead of a draft on expressing a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister? Our opposition colleagues said that this is a completely different matter. And my second question is, why is there no mention of the necessity of Bagrat Galstanyan's candidacy for the Prime Minister? They again said that this is a different process. This is very strange for me, dear colleagues.'
