Another Stabbing Incident on Mashtots Avenue: 19-Year-Old Dies

The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan City is conducting an investigation into another stabbing incident that occurred on Mashtots Avenue on June 10.

According to the committee, at 02:14 and again at 02:35 on June 10, emergency calls were received regarding two individuals with stab wounds, a 19-year-old from Armavir Province and a 24-year-old from Gegharkunik Province, who were transferred to the "Heratsi" Hospital Complex and "Erebuni" Medical Center. The 19-year-old was reported to be in critical condition.

On the same day at 02:50, the hospital reported that the patient had been biologically pronounced dead around 02:20.

A criminal case has been initiated under various provisions of the RA Criminal Code, including Article 155, 44-155, 334, and 297.

It was discovered that at approximately 01:10 on June 10, a group of individuals displayed open disrespect towards society and engaged in a heated argument near Mashtots Avenue 42. During the altercation, one participant used a cutting object to strike others, inflicting bodily injuries.

Investigators conducted a review of the crime scene, during which blood traces and other objects were found and seized. Several individuals have been interrogated, and forensic examinations have been commissioned.

Footage from two recording devices capturing the incident has been obtained and reviewed. As a result of the investigative and procedural actions, as well as operational measures taken, the identity of the alleged perpetrator has been established. The suspect, born in 2000, is a resident of Syunik Province.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and necessary steps are being taken to locate and present the suspect to the prosecuting authority.
