Murder on Mashtots Avenue: Group Fight Ends in Stabbing
Today, on June 10th, a murder, hooliganism, and infliction of bodily harm occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 01:25, the Criminal Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information at the same time from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Yerevan Police and the Central Division, reporting that a dispute and brawl had taken place among a group of individuals on Mashtots Avenue, resulting in injuries, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
Police determined that around 01:10, near 43 Mashtots Avenue, a group of individuals engaged in a heated confrontation, displaying open disrespect towards each other, shouting insults. During the altercation, one participant used a sharp edged object to strike the others involved, inflicting injuries.
While law enforcement officials were working at the scene, the central police received a report from the Erebuni Medical Center that an individual had been transported with a 'stab wound to the left side of the chest'. The emergency medical group 05 had transported the victim from near 43A Mashtots Avenue.
Upon arrival, police and patrol officers identified the injured individual as 18-year-old A.K. from the Armavir region, who had received the injury during the aforementioned dispute from an unknown person using a cutting and stabbing weapon.
By approximately 02:35, the Erebuni Medical Center informed the Central Police Division that emergency group 08 had transported another citizen diagnosed with a 'stab wound to the lower back'. The police and patrol officers established that the injured party was 23-year-old A.S. from the Gegarkunik region.
Operational data revealed that he had also been stabbed on Mashtots Avenue. Forensic experts worked at the scene, and investigators found blood-like traces, a shoe, and other items.
A criminal case was initiated in the investigation department on charges of 'murder', 'hooliganism', and 'infliction of bodily injury'.
