Biden Confuses Ukraine with Iraq This Time
US President Joe Biden has made another gaffe, expressing frustration that Iraq must wait a long time for American assistance, referring to Ukraine instead.
"The idea that some people say we have now become semi-isolated: I mean the idea that we had to wait all these months just to get money for Iraq, which we had waited for. I mean, it's clear. This is not what we are; this is not what America is," he told reporters at the end of his visit to France.
A text message sent by the White House crossed out the word "Iraq" and added "Ukraine" in parentheses.
It took Congress six months to allocate $61 billion in aid to Ukraine to continue support, including the supply of weapons and ammunition.
The frequent public appearances and awkward movements of 81-year-old Biden have led his political opponents to question his fitness for a second term in office.
