UN Secretary-General Warns of Risk of Major Conflict

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called for a ceasefire along the border between Lebanon and Israel. He has warned of the danger of a larger conflict.

Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a visit to the northern border, cautioned that Israel is "prepared for very intensive action" along the border.

“In a situation where gunfire continues, the Secretary-General urges both sides to urgently cease fire. This exchange of fire could lead to a broader conflict with devastating consequences for the region,” said UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric in a statement regarding the situation at the Israel-Lebanon border.
