Eiffel Tower Ready for Olympic Games
Five Olympic rings have been installed on the Eiffel Tower ahead of the Summer Olympic Games, which will begin in Paris in 50 days.
The first to be photographed in front of the transformed tower was Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. As the start of the Olympic Games in the French capital approaches, the influx of visitors wanting to see the Eiffel Tower has increased significantly.
The 9-meter diameter rings are made from recycled French steel. The 30-ton structure is anchored on the southern side of the tower, offering a view of the Seine River. Media reports indicate that the Paris Olympic rings are larger than those installed on the London Tower in 2012, but smaller than those built on the Odaiba cargo ship in Tokyo in 2020.
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11.
