Andreasian Announces Timeline for Final Master Plan of 'Academic' City

The final version of the master plan for the 'Academic' City will be ready by July. This information was provided by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasian, during a joint meeting of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly discussing the annual report on the execution of the Armenian state budget for 2023.

"Conceptual work was carried out to establish the vision and concept of the academic city. We have also signed the first contracts. It is already clear that we will have the final version of the master plan in July," the minister stated.

According to her, several projects are currently in circulation, which will allow for contracts related to the transportation project and the overall management and urban development of the city.

The minister emphasized that the ministry is working with international partners in all these directions. "The progress of the work indicates that we are in a fairly high-quality preparatory phase regarding the academic city, which also lays very serious foundations for the realization of this large-scale project," Andreasian said.

It is noteworthy that the government plans to relocate higher education institutions and scientific institutes to the academic city, creating clusters based on them. The 17th district of Yerevan and the area of 'Hayfilm' will be allocated for the academic city.
