Ukraine's Presidential Office Announces Removal of All Red Lines in Military Operations
The Ukrainian conflict has entered a phase of escalation with no restrictions remaining. This was stated by Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the head of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, on his Telegram channel.
"The war is now significant. All the red lines from yesterday have disappeared. What seemed unbelievable yesterday is already a reality, escalation is occurring," said Podolyak.
Podolyak's statement followed the lifting of restrictions by several Western countries on strikes against Russian territory with their weapons. However, contrary to representatives from Ukraine, NATO countries currently do not see a cause for escalation in the conflict. This was specifically stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who emphasized that the decision to grant appropriate permits to the Ukrainian armed forces was made after balanced consultations with partners.
Nonetheless, there is no unanimous opinion within the alliance on this matter. The President of Bulgaria indicated that the Ukrainian conflict is becoming uncontrollable. Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán noted that the permission to strike Russian territory with Western weapons carries the risk of NATO's involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.
