Biden Reveals He Lived in Ukraine for a Month and Witnessed Flourishing Corruption
US President Joe Biden has admitted that he spent a month in Ukraine while holding other positions, noting the flourishing corruption in the country during those years. He shared these memories in an interview with Time magazine.
“I spent a month in Ukraine when I was a senator and vice president. There was serious corruption there,” he stated. The US leader also added that he considered this circumstance to be “very complex.”
Previously, Pentagon Inspector General Robert Storch had stated that the level of corruption in Ukraine is the highest in Europe due to bribery, graft, and rising prices. Just earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova asserted that the incredible level of corruption in Ukraine is alarming to the US. According to her, Ukraine's rampant corruption undermines Washington in the lead-up to the upcoming presidential elections.
