The U.S. Is Ready to Discuss Expanding the Geography of Attacks on Russian Territory with Ukraine

The United States has announced its readiness to discuss the expansion of the geography of attacks on Russian territory with Ukraine. However, Washington is still unable to say whether such consultations will lead to new political decisions.

“I think no one should be surprised that Volodymyr Zelensky is grateful on one hand and continues to advocate for his case on the other. Therefore, we will have such conversations, we will have discussions with the Ukrainians,” said John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, during a press briefing.

He noted that the United States will continue to adapt its support “according to the evolution of the situation in the battlefield.” Last week, the U.S. administration allowed Ukrainian armed forces to use the weapons transferred to them against targets in Russian territories near the Kharkiv region.
