No Signs of Violence Found in Anahit Mnatsakanyan's Body Examination, Investigative Committee Clarifies
On June 1, 2024, at 11:15 AM, a report was received by the division concerning the security of one of the recreation areas on the shores of Lake Sevan, stating that the clothes and belongings of A. Mnatsakanyan had been found on the shore, while she was missing from the area. This was reported by Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the chairman of the Investigative Committee.
"Following the incident on June 1, 2024, related to the circumstances of her disappearance, a criminal case was initiated under the first part of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia at the Sevan Investigation Division of the Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department. An investigation has commenced, and search operations have been carried out. On June 3, 2024, the body of 25-year-old A. Mnatsakanyan from Yerevan was discovered 65-70 meters away from the shore, in 4 meters of water at the same recreation area," the statement reads.
The examination of the body revealed no external signs of violence. The investigation is ongoing. In order to clarify the circumstances of the death, a forensic examination has also been commissioned.
