9-Year-Old Child Injured in Shamlugh Transferred to Yerevan by Air Ambulance
On June 2, 2024, at around 14:30, an emergency call was registered from the village of Shamlugh regarding a 9-year-old child who sustained blunt abdominal trauma with a diagnosis of shock. An ambulance, which was on duty near the temporary bridge of Akhtala, evacuated the child and rushed them to the Alaverdi Medical Center. This was reported by Aren Mkrtchyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling My Step Alliance.
He also noted, “Examinations revealed that H. Sokhakyan suffered a serious injury to the pancreas after falling from a bicycle; it was decided to transfer them to a specialized medical facility - Arabkir Medical Center.”
Regional officials from Lori Province and the management of the Alaverdi Medical Center promptly called for air ambulance services, and the child's transfer was quickly organized using a helicopter from Armenia Helicopter. Currently, the child's condition is stable and they are receiving treatment at the Arabkir Medical Center.
