Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Ayrum - Bagratashen Road Closed: Situation at Lars
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads within the Republic of Armenia. A partial collapse has occurred at the pedestrian section of the bridge near the village of Getapnya in the Ararat province, resulting in the cessation of traffic on the bridge.
According to the Road Department, the Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Ayrum - Bagratashen road is closed. Drivers are urged to bypass the M-6 route while heading to the Georgian border by using the M-3 Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Armenia border and M-1 Yerevan-Gyumri-Armenia border interstate highways.
The M-4, Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Armenia border road is passable from Dilijan to Ijevan; however, in some sections, traffic is one-way. The bridge leading to the villages of Khashtarak and Lusahanov is permanently closed.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
