Twelve Candidates Registered for Presidency in Iran, Process Ongoing

The registration process for presidential candidates in Iran continues. As of today, the number of registered candidates has reached twelve.

Among the registered candidates is former Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani. He stated that if elected, his main goal would be to overcome the acute divisions present within Iranian society.

“Our society is seriously suffering due to various disagreements. The government should utilize the capabilities of representatives from all political directions; the government is not a closed club for a single party or group,” Larijani declared.

Other registered candidates include former chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili and former Central Bank president Abdolnaser Hemmati, who also participated in the 2021 elections.
