Tension Mounts Near Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building
Tension is rising near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) building. The leader of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, Bishop Bagrat, demanded that Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan come down to meet with them; otherwise, they would ascend themselves. He warned that even if a police force of 20,000 were deployed, they would not be stopped.
Currently, the already large number of police forces present near the MFA have multiplied. Police officers are striking shields with batons as a warning to protest participants, while on the other side, demonstrators are blowing horns.
At this time, the police are attempting to arrange a meeting between representatives of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Bishop Bagrat stated that they would enter with 10 people and media representatives.
Red berets have also been brought to the MFA vicinity. It is worth recalling that this morning, participants of the protest marched from St. Anna Church to the prosecutor's office and then to the ministry buildings.
