Kazani and Nizhnekamsk Airports Temporarily Halt Operations Due to Security Concerns
Kazani and Nizhnekamsk airports have introduced temporary restrictions on the acceptance and dispatch of aircraft. This information has been reported by Rosaviatsiya.
According to a statement, ‘To ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights, temporary restrictions have been imposed on the operations of the two airports in Tatarstan - Kazani and Nizhnekamsk,’ it was stated in the message.
It is noted that aircraft crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of flights. Departing flights from Kazani airport have been redirected to the backup airport in Samara. Eight flights have been delayed at Kazani airport.
The authorities of Tatarstan have confirmed that evacuations are being carried out in some enterprises due to the threat posed by UAVs. Eyewitnesses reported that two UAVs have been neutralized in the region. There are no reported injuries.
