Emergency Services Update on Closed Roads: How to Travel to Georgia

The Emergency Services have reported that there are closed highways within the territory of Armenia. A partial collapse occurred at the pedestrian section of the bridge near the village of Getapnya in Ararat Province, resulting in the suspension of traffic on the bridge.

According to the Roads Department, the Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Ayrium - Bagratashen highway is closed. Drivers are advised to bypass the M-6 when heading to the Georgian border and take the M-3 Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Armenia border and the M-1 Yerevan-Gyumri-Armenia border routes.

The M-4 Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Armenia border highway is passable from Dilijan to Ijevan, although traffic is one-way in certain sections.

The bridge leading to the villages of Khashtarak and Lusahatap is closed to both directions.

Regarding the Lars border crossing, according to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Department and the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles.
