United States Likely to Allow Ukraine to Strike Targets Within Russia Using American Weapons, WP
The United States will allow Ukraine to use the air defense systems transferred to it, including the Patriot missile system, to destroy missiles and aircraft within Russian territory if they pose a threat to Ukraine. This was reported on May 29 by the American newspaper The Washington Post (WP), citing sources within the administration of President Joe Biden.
At the same time, Washington is reportedly concerned about Kyiv's attacks on Russian radar stations, which are part of the nuclear missile launch warning system. The White House fears that Ukrainian military strikes on these sites could have a destabilizing effect, as these facilities are not involved in the war between Ukraine and Russia, and attacking them could "compromise the strategic stability between Washington and Moscow," the sources explained.
